Aragon
Crypto Overview
Project Overview
Aragon is a platform designed to create and manage decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). The ANT token serves as the governance token for the Aragon Network, allowing holders to participate in decision-making regarding protocol updates and treasury management.
Intended Utility
The primary purpose of ANT is to facilitate governance within the Aragon ecosystem. Token holders can create proposals, vote on protocol changes, and influence the direction of the platform. The token also serves as a means to resolve disputes through the Aragon Court system, where jurors must stake ANT to participate.
Actual Utility Assessment
On-chain data shows active usage of ANT for governance purposes, with regular proposal submissions and voting activities. The Aragon Court system has processed multiple disputes, demonstrating practical utility. The platform has been adopted by numerous DAOs for organizational management.
Token Distribution and Founder Analysis
Initial token distribution allocated 70% to the public sale, 15% to the foundation reserves, and 15% to founders and early contributors with a 2-year vesting period. Current data shows a relatively decentralized token distribution with no single entity holding a controlling stake.
Development Activity
The project maintains active development with regular GitHub commits and protocol updates. The team consistently delivers on roadmap milestones, focusing on improving DAO tooling and governance mechanisms rather than token marketing.
Revenue Model
The platform generates revenue through service fees for DAO creation and management, which are distributed to the protocol treasury. This model does not involve interest-based mechanisms or prohibited activities.
