Overview
AssangeDAO was a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) created in 2022 to raise funds to bid on an NFT collection called 'Clock' created by Pak and Julian Assange. The primary purpose was to support Julian Assange's legal defense fund. The DAO successfully raised approximately 17,422 ETH (around $56 million at the time) to win the bid for the NFT.
Purpose and Utility
The JUSTICE token was distributed to contributors who participated in the fundraising effort. Token holders could participate in governance decisions regarding the DAO's future activities and resource allocation. The token represents fractional ownership in the 'Clock' NFT and governance rights in the DAO.
Business Model and Activity
The project appears to have been a one-time fundraising effort with limited ongoing activity. After successfully acquiring the NFT and distributing tokens to contributors, there has been minimal development or ecosystem activity. The DAO's primary mission was achieved through the initial fundraise.
Token Distribution
Tokens were distributed to contributors based on their ETH contributions to the fundraising effort. There is no evidence of concerning token allocation to founders or early investors.
