Centrifuge is a decentralized asset financing protocol that enables businesses to tokenize real-world assets (RWA) and use them as collateral to access financing. The protocol bridges traditional finance with DeFi by allowing businesses to convert assets like invoices, real estate, and royalties into NFTs that can be used to obtain financing.
Intended Utility
CFG serves as the governance token for the Centrifuge protocol, allowing holders to participate in decision-making regarding protocol parameters, upgrades, and treasury management. It's also used for staking to secure the network and incentivize participants.
Actual Utility Assessment
The platform has demonstrated real-world adoption with several established partnerships, including major traditional financial institutions. On-chain data shows active usage of the protocol for asset tokenization and financing. The development team maintains regular updates and improvements to the platform, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
Token Distribution and Governance
The token distribution shows a balanced allocation with appropriate vesting schedules for team members and early investors.
