Overview
Core is a cryptocurrency launched in December 2023 as part of the Core DAO blockchain ecosystem. The project aims to provide a scalable, energy-efficient Layer 1 blockchain platform utilizing a Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism, which combines Proof of Work and delegated Proof of Stake.
Purpose and Utility
The CORE token serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem: It's used for network governance, validator staking, and as a means of payment for transaction fees. The token enables holders to participate in network validation and governance decisions.
Business Model Analysis
Core's business model centers around providing blockchain infrastructure services. The project does not involve any inherently prohibited activities like interest-based lending or gambling. The consensus mechanism and governance systems are transparent and documented.
Real-World Adoption
While still in its early stages, Core has demonstrated growing adoption with active validators securing the network and an increasing number of transactions being processed. The ecosystem includes multiple decentralized applications being built on the platform.
