Gains Network
Crypto Overview
Project Overview
Gains Network is a decentralized protocol built on Polygon and Arbitrum that powers gTrade, a leveraged trading platform. The GNS token serves as the governance and utility token of the ecosystem.
Intended Utility
The GNS token's primary purposes are: governance rights for protocol decisions, staking to provide trading liquidity, and fee sharing from trading activities. Token holders who stake GNS receive a portion of the trading fees generated on the platform.
Actual Utility and Adoption
The platform has demonstrated significant adoption with over $200 billion in trading volume across crypto and forex pairs. The protocol maintains active development and regular updates, with a strong focus on improving trading infrastructure and risk management systems.
Token Distribution and Governance
Initial token distribution allocated 30% to the team and advisors with a 2-year vesting period. The remaining tokens were distributed through liquidity mining, community initiatives, and public sales. The vesting schedule and lock-up periods appear designed to prevent dump scenarios.
Technical Implementation
The protocol uses a synthetic trading system where users trade against a liquidity pool rather than peer-to-peer. While this involves leveraged trading, the platform acts as an exchange of digital assets rather than a pure betting system, as traders receive ownership of synthetic positions backed by real collateral.
