Overview
Nsure Network is a decentralized insurance protocol launched in 2020, aiming to provide coverage for various crypto assets and DeFi protocols. The NSURE token serves as both a governance token and a means of participating in the insurance ecosystem.
Purpose and Utility
The primary purpose of NSURE is to facilitate decentralized insurance services within the crypto ecosystem. Token holders can participate in governance decisions, stake tokens to become capital providers, and use the token to purchase insurance coverage.
Business Model Analysis
The protocol operates as a decentralized marketplace where users can purchase insurance coverage for their digital assets. Capital providers stake NSURE tokens to back insurance policies and earn rewards from premiums. While insurance itself is permissible in Islam when structured appropriately, the current implementation involves elements of conventional insurance rather than takaful principles.
Real-World Adoption
The project has seen limited adoption since its launch. While the platform is operational, current usage metrics indicate minimal active policies and capital provision. Development activity appears to have slowed significantly since 2022.
Token Distribution
Initial token distribution allocated 30% to the team and advisors, with 25% for ecosystem development, 20% for community rewards, and 25% for public sale. Team tokens had a vesting schedule over 24 months.
