Overview
Picasso is a substrate-based blockchain platform being developed by Composable Finance. It aims to serve as a Layer-1 blockchain that enables cross-chain communication and interoperability between different blockchain networks.
Purpose and Utility
The PICA token is designed to serve multiple functions within the Picasso ecosystem: Governance rights for protocol decisions, staking for network security, and fees for cross-chain transactions and services. The platform intends to facilitate DeFi operations across multiple blockchains.
Business Model Analysis
The core business model revolves around providing infrastructure for cross-chain communications and DeFi operations. While some DeFi aspects could raise concerns from an Islamic finance perspective, the primary focus on infrastructure development and cross-chain communication aligns with permissible technical utility.
