RARI
Crypto Overview
Purpose and Utility
RARI is the governance token of Rarible, a decentralized NFT marketplace protocol launched in 2020. Token holders can participate in platform governance through voting on protocol upgrades and features. The token also serves as a reward mechanism for active platform participants creating and trading NFTs.
Business Model Assessment
Rarible's core business model revolves around facilitating NFT creation and trading. The platform charges marketplace fees on NFT transactions, with RARI tokens distributed to active users. The business model appears transparent and does not inherently involve prohibited activities like gambling or interest-based lending.
Real-World Adoption
Rarible has established itself as one of the major NFT marketplaces, though facing significant competition from platforms like OpenSea. The platform processes regular NFT trading volume and has integrated with multiple blockchain networks including Ethereum, Tezos, and Flow.
Development Activity
The project maintains active development with regular platform updates and feature releases. The team continues to expand marketplace functionality and cross-chain support. Their GitHub repositories show consistent developer activity.
Token Distribution
The initial token distribution allocated 30% to the team and advisors with a vesting schedule, 60% for marketplace rewards, and 10% for ecosystem development. This distribution appears reasonably balanced between team incentives and community rewards.
