Substratum was a cryptocurrency project that aimed to create a decentralized internet by allowing users to run nodes that would serve web content without the need for traditional hosting services or VPNs. Current Status
As of 2024, the Substratum project appears to be defunct. The project's website is no longer operational, development has ceased, and trading of the SUB token has been delisted from major exchanges. The last significant activity on the project's GitHub repository was several years ago.
Intended Utility
The SUB token was meant to serve as a payment mechanism within the Substratum network, where node operators would be compensated in SUB tokens for hosting and serving content, while users would pay for accessing the network.
Real World Adoption
The project never achieved significant adoption or delivered its promised technology. The network never became operational in any meaningful capacity.

Development appears to have completely ceased. There is no active development team or ongoing updates to the project's codebase.
