Sweat Economy
Crypto Overview
Project Overview
Sweat Economy is a move-to-earn cryptocurrency project that rewards users with SWEAT tokens for physical activity tracked through their mobile phones. The project evolved from Sweatcoin, a successful movement tracking app with over 100 million users.
Intended Utility
The primary purpose of SWEAT is to serve as a utility token within the Sweat Economy ecosystem. Users earn tokens by walking or running, which can be used for purchasing products and services from partner merchants, participating in challenges, or traded on cryptocurrency exchanges.
Actual Utility Assessment
The project demonstrates significant real-world adoption, with millions of active users transitioning from the original Sweatcoin app. On-chain data shows regular token minting through verified physical activity and active trading on multiple exchanges. The ecosystem includes a marketplace where users can spend their tokens on real products and services.
Token Distribution and Governance
The token distribution shows a structured allocation with 65% reserved for user growth and movement generation, 15% for the team and advisors (with a 3-year vesting period), 15% for the treasury, and 5% for the initial token generation event. Team tokens are subject to a lengthy vesting schedule, reducing the risk of founder enrichment schemes.
Development and Marketing
The project maintains an active development schedule with regular updates to both the app and blockchain infrastructure. While marketing is present, it appears proportional to development efforts and focuses on user acquisition rather than token price speculation.
Revenue Model
The business model relies on partnerships with merchants, premium subscriptions, and ecosystem fees, avoiding interest-based income or gambling mechanics. The token generation is tied to verifiable physical activity, creating real utility through health promotion.
