Purpose and Utility
XDC Network (formerly XinFin) is an enterprise-ready blockchain platform that aims to bridge the global infrastructure financing gap. It specifically targets trade finance, global payments, and supply chain management use cases. The platform uses a modified version of Ethereum's codebase with a unique consensus mechanism called Delegated Proof of Stake + Byzantine Fault Tolerance (XDPoS).
Business Model and Current Usage
The XDC token serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem: transaction fees, validator staking, and governance. The network has established partnerships with financial institutions and trade organizations, including TradeFinex, which uses the XDC Network for trade finance digitization.

Development and Adoption
The project maintains active development, with regular github commits and ecosystem updates. Notable partnerships include R3 Corda, ISO 20022, and various financial institutions. The network has over 108 masternodes operating globally.
Token Distribution
Initial token distribution included: 15% to founding team (with multi-year vesting), 25% for ecosystem development, and 60% through various sale rounds. The vesting schedule for team tokens indicates commitment to long-term development rather than short-term gains.
