Yield Guild Games (YGG) is a gaming guild that operates as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The YGG token serves multiple purposes within its ecosystem: governance rights over the DAO's treasury and operations, revenue sharing from guild activities, and access to exclusive opportunities within the guild's gaming ecosystem.
Business Model
YGG's core business involves investing in NFTs from play-to-earn games and lending these assets to players (scholars) who cannot afford to purchase them. Revenue is generated through profit-sharing agreements with scholars. The guild also invests in virtual land and other gaming assets.
Real-World Adoption
YGG has established partnerships with numerous blockchain games including Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, and League of Kingdoms. The guild manages thousands of scholars across multiple games and has demonstrated consistent ecosystem growth.
Token Distribution and Governance
The initial token distribution allocated 45% to the treasury and community, 25% to early investors, 20% to the team and advisors, and 10% for public sale. Team tokens are subject to a 3-year vesting period with a 1-year cliff.
Development Activity
The project maintains active development with regular updates to its scholarship program, continuous game partnerships, and expansion into regional subDAOs. The team regularly publishes community updates and governance proposals.
Revenue Model Analysis
